Sioux Valley Energy offers rebates for the purchase of lifetime warranty electric water heaters.  A rebate of $3 per gallon will be given for water heaters with 50-79 gallon capacity and $6 per gallon for 80 gallon and larger water heaters.  In addition to the rebate, you will receive a $6 monthly credit on your bill for participating in the load management program (requires a minimum total electric usage of 300 kWh per month).

To qualify for the rebate:

• The water heater must be installed at a service location receiving electricity from Sioux Valley Energy and used for a water heating application that allows a load management receiver to be installed.  It must carry a lifetime warranty and be 50 gallon or larger capacity.  The water heater must be purchased and rebate applied for by December 31st of the current year.
• The member agrees to participate in the load management program for a minimum of five (5) years from the rebate date.
• Complete the water heater rebate form.  Return the rebate form when the water heater is installed (plumbed and wired).  Submit a copy of proof of purchase/sales receipt and verification of lifetime warranty for water heater.
• Sioux Valley Energy's Customer Electrical Department will either install a new load management receiver or test existing equipment. The rebate will be issued after the load management equipment is connected/verified.

Sioux Valley Energy offers incentives to encourage members to replace existing appliances with ENERGY STAR appliances.  Members can receive a credit on their electric account for purchasing replacement appliances.  Appliance rebates are available for ENERGY STAR products including:

• $50 rebate for refrigerator.
• $50 rebate for freezer.
• $50 rebate for clothes washer.
• $50 rebate for dishwasher. 

To qualify for the rebate:

• Appliance rebates only apply to the purchase of an ENERGY STAR appliance that replaces an existing appliance.  Appliances must be purchased and rebates applied for in 2012.  Rebate dollars are limited and will be paid on a first come, first served basis.
• Complete the Residential Rebate Form.  Include a copy of proof of purchase/sales receipt along with an Energy Star label.  Proof of disposal is required for refrigerator and freezer rebates. 
• Appliance rebates only apply to the purchase of an appliance that replaces an existing appliance.  An Energy Star label must be submitted and proof of disposal is required for refrigerator and freezer rebates. 
• Rebates will be credited to your electric account.
• Each account is eligible to receive only one rebate for each appliance type.

Sioux Valley Energy provides a weatherization rebate program to assist members in increasing the energy efficiency of their homes.  Weatherization home improvements include windows, doors, insulation, caulking and weather stripping. Members can receive a 20% rebate (up to $1,000) for weatherization project costs.  Sioux Valley Energy must conduct an energy audit prior to the work being performed and will inspect the project upon completion. 

To qualify for the rebate:

• The member agrees to pay the audit fees and will be reimbursed $45 plus tax when the rebate is processed.
• Rebates are available only for home improvement products, not new construction, that meet Energy Star standards.
• Home improvement products such as doors, windows, insulation, caulk, and weather stripping must be purchased and installed by December 31st of the current year.  Rebate dollars are limited and will be paid on a first come, first served basis.
• Products must meet the following standards:
  • Windows and doors must be ENERGY STAR labeled
  •  Insulation values and levels must meet ENERGY STAR standards
  • Other air sealing products such as caulk and weather stripping are eligible
• Complete the Weatherization Rebate Form and submit a copy of proof of purchase/sales receipt for energy efficiency improvements.
• Project costs must be a minimum of $250.

Rebates up to $1,000 are available for replacement lighting in non-residential structures.  One rebate per account.

• Call the Sioux Valley Energy Marketing Department prior to any lighting changes.
• Complete the commerial lighting incentive form once work is completed.
• Final inspection conducted by Sioux Valley Energy must be complete before the rebate will be issued.
• Purchase, installation and rebate application must be complete before Dec. 31 of the current year.

Rebates up to $2,000 are available for replacement motors which are classified as NEMA premium efficiency.  One rebate per large power account.

• Call the Sioux Valley Energy Marketing Department prior to any motor changes.
• Complete the commercial motor incentive form once work is completed.
• Final inspection conducted by Sioux Valley Energy must be complete before the rebate will be issued.
• Purchase, installation and rebate application must be complete before Dec. 31 of the current year.

Sioux Valley Energy will reimburse large power customers half of the cost of a commercial energy audit, up to $1,000.

A rebate of $100 per ton is available up to a maximum of 150 tons for commercial facilities installing a heat pump.
